PERF (Ré)agir / (Re)act focuses on the notion of encounter — inherent to performative practices — and brings together the proposals of artists, authors, curators, researchers, theorists, and organizations in a multidisciplinary action art event.
The two years between this third iteration and the previous one have severely disrupted the making and presentation of art in all its forms. In this context, PERF is adopting a more engaged approach by positioning itself vis-à-vis the current situation: (Ré)agir / (Re)act is a putting into (re)action of the encounter.
AXENÉO7 decided to extend the notion of performance by inviting artists and writers to develop texts for the festival that will be available in salle Jean-Pierre Latour as well as online during the biennale.
In addition, AXENÉO7 extended an invitation to Fait Maison (Thomas Grondin and Anna Khimasia) to carry out a curatorial residency and curate two performance events: a walk to different sites in the neighborhood and a performative afternoon tea. These two events reflect more deeply on the relationship between spaces, performers and audience.
Two evenings of performances, overseen by the centre, bring together diverse projects, both interventions and installation.
In closing, in partnership with Centre de production DAÏMÔN, AXENÉO7 is proposing a series of three performances, preceded by a choreographic residency, of the Dream Room project by the Katie Ward Company, presented simultaneously and in collaboration with the Beeldend Danstheater Telder.
The third edition of AXENÉO7 artist-run centre’s performance biennial is being presented from September 22 to October 23, 2021 in collaboration with the Centre de production DAÏMÔN, Radio-Hull, Fait Maison (Thomas Grondin et Anna Khimasia), Katie Ward Company and the Beeldend Danstheater Telder (Netherlands).
