Simon Brown + Pavel Pavlov + Marc A. Reinhardt + Maude Veilleux

Extramural Special project
Medeiation activity

Originally presented in autumn 2024 as part of the exhibition Se limiter au maximum at AXENÉO7, the collective formed by Simon Brown, Pavel Pavlov, Marc A. Reinhardt and Maude Veilleux is once again presenting the film FRANGE IDÉALE (2024) at the Centre d’exposition L’Imagier (9 Front Street), every evening from 8PM to 1AM.

The screening will be visible on the façade, in the Parc de l’Imaginaire.

As part of a special invitation from L'Imagier, AXENÉO7 will project FRANGE IDÉALE, a video work from the previous exhibition Se limiter au maximum (2024), onto the garden façade of the Aylmer exhibition centre. The screening will be followed by a cultural mediation round table discussion with the artistic team and invited guests.

FRANGE IDÉALE is a performance film set in the context of the North American suburbs, where the promise of a better life coexists with the pernicious effects of exponential growth and capital accumulation. Four entities gather around a diamond-shaped patio to observe burnout society. Together, they identify possible solutions to the mental and physical exhaustion of our bodies, which—ironically—contribute to the exhaustion of the territory. This film was produced with the support of Centre AXENÉO7, Centre de production DAÏMÔN and the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec.

Biography
The collective, composed of Simon Brown, Pavel Pavlov, Marc A. Reinhardt, and Maude Veilleux, was formed in the summer of 2022 at Le Patio, a place of radical hospitality that challenges the boundaries between private and public space. Through visual arts, musical improvisation, poetry and performance, we adopt experimental strategies, both playful and formal, through interventions based on the infrastructures of neoliberalism and art.
