End of the year at AXENÉO7

This fall at AXENÉO7 has been eventful. After the opening of Maude Bernier Chabot's major exhibition pièce contre pièce in September, we closed the Public Art Summer Programming on a high note with a series of last ascents of Josée Dubeau's Mirador, numerous visits of Annie Thibault's Les Radieuses / Cartographie de l'invisible, and the hosting of the closing of the City of Gatineau's Sentier culturel, in the presence of the Minister of Culture Mathieu Lacombe. This event was organized in collaboration with DAÏMÔN artist-run production centre.

We also had the opportunity to collaborate with the Théâtre du Trillium for the opening of Actoral festival, which brought performance and dance to our walls for one evening. Performance art was also featured in Le show sur l'effondrement qui n'aura pas lieu by the Bureau de l'APA, in collaboration with Alain-Martin Richard, which was well attended.

At the beginning of October, we launched a call for proposals for the new regular programming format of the center, offering flexibility and openness to art in all its forms. The team mobilized to organize two information sessions and an on-site clinic, with the precious help of artists and cultural workers who gave their time for the occasion. We would like to thank Olivia Johnston, Manon Larin-Picard, and Stefan St-Laurent for their generosity towards the center.

We end the year on a high note with appairage, peering, pairing, an exhibition curated by AXENÉO7 that showcases the work of 12 contemporary artists from across Canada. You can visit the group show until Saturday, December 10, 2022.

Annual closing

Following such a beautiful fall, AXENÉO7 artist-run centre will close its office for an annual vacation between Friday, December 16, 2022 and Thursday, January 5, 2023.

Les Filafêtes

AXENÉO7 and DAÏMÔN invite you to their annual end of the year celebrations, also called Les Filafêtes, on Thursday, December 15, 2022, from 7:30 to 11PM. Les Filafêtes is a festive gathering to celebrate the holiday season. This will be an occasion to warmly thank all of our collaborators who have contributed to the successes of our organization.
