PRAXIS
- PRAXIS
AXENÉO7 aims to support multidisciplinary proposals, or those that feature encounters between different practices and dialogue across artistic, methodological, or sensitive fields.
The PRAXIS program combines research, creation, mediation and public presentation through a residency held directly in the centre’s exhibition spaces.
Designed for site-specific and process-based practices, PRAXIS invites an artist, a collective or a group to inhabit its spaces as a studio where the work develops, in situ and in full view, over time, in dialogue with the centre, its territory and the communities that compose it. Through shared moments and transmission, the public is invited to follow the creative process closely and, at times, to partake in it.
CONDITIONS :
The selected projects must involve an active presence at the centre. Proposals must be conceived or developed with the spaces of AXENÉO7 in mind, focusing on research, experimentation, and production. They must consist of a creative project, an installation in development, a performative or participatory initiative, an exhibition, one-off dissemination events, or a combination of these formats. Projects incorporating opportunities for sharing, haptic research practices or forms of direct engagement with audiences will be particularly encouraged.
Depending on the nature of the project, the centre can provide one to three rooms. The occupation of the spaces will be determined by the requirements of production, presentation, mediation, activation, and public circulation.
REMUNERATION :
Artists participating in the PRAXIS program will receive remuneration for their participation. This will be determined in accordance with the rates recommended by the RAAV and CARFAC, the nature of the project, the extent of the commitment required, and the centre’s remuneration policies.
AXENÉO7 acknowledges that time spent on research, production, presence at the centre, transmission, mediation and encounters with audiences constitute artistic work in its own right. Depending on the project, remuneration may include fees for creation, research residency, presentation, performance, mediation or public activities.
The costs associated with carrying out the project — production, materials, travel, accommodation or technical requirements — may also be discussed with the selected artists, depending on the resources available and the proposed hosting arrangements.
