Exhibitions, performances, gatherings, and workshops take place at the centre and off-site throughout the season.

After A Late Spring and the kind of vacation we wish would never end, fall at AXENÉO7 carries forward the momentum of projects and collaborations initiated over previous seasons, following them into their most unexpected forms.

First presented at AXENÉO7 last fall, Kinga Michalska and Sarah Chouinard-Poirier’s Pologne-en-Québec now moves to L’Écart. There, the installation is reconfigured before heading underground for the Biennale d’art performatif de Rouyn-Noranda. It then becomes Pologne-en-sous-sol, drawing the film’s characters and audiences alike into new (mis)adventures.

In Gatineau, Micro-concert #5 brings together Martín Rodríguez and Rodrigo Medrano. The interactive installation Radio-vestige, a collaboration between Martín Rodríguez and Jean Couteau, is co-presented with DAÏMÔN as part of the PAN PAN edition of Festival Radio-Hull, curated by Marc A. Reinhardt.

Also on the festival program, Simon Labbé presents a sound piece drawn from a recording of La pomme par laquelle je bois. Created with Maude Arès and Erin Hill, the project was co-produced and recorded in February 2026 as part of the inaugural PRAXIS residency at AXENÉO7.

After transforming La Filature, its surroundings, and its front window into a garden of abundance, Martín Rodríguez’s NOUS / OTRXS moves indoors. There, the project continues to grow until harvest, before making its own way to Abitibi.

The circulation of Pologne-en-Québec and NOUS / OTRXS is part of moving earth, a touring initiative led by AXENÉO7 and L’Écart in collaboration with several local organizations, with support from the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec. A project by Eve Tagny will soon embark on its own journey within the initiative.

At the centre, Dominic Lafontaine’s exhibition Les enfants des bois concludes an Autorésidence. Drawing on texts from colonial archives in Abitibi, Témiscamingue, the Outaouais, and neighbouring parts of Ontario, the artist reclaims, shifts, and subverts the language used to name and define Indigenous realities.

Off-site, Kidows Kim’s performance High Gear will be presented at Club SAW as part of a tour organized by L’Écart and its partners. At Centre SAGAMIE, Gatineau-based Coco Simone Finken and Saguenay-based Em Hould will undertake a micro-publishing residency as part of RELIER 2.0. The two resulting publications will be launched at AXENÉO7 next spring.

The fall season will also feature the launch of tongue breaks / langues rompues, continuing the three-part collaboration with Hannah Azar Strauss. Following the Autorésidence and its experimental translation workshop, then the outdoor intervention tonguelangue, the publication brings together the artist’s writings, contributions by Wawa Li, Vincent Bonin, Sophie Bélair Clément, Marc A. Reinhardt, Florence Simard, and Diyar Mayil, as well as a text by Fan Wu.

These projects will be accompanied by Micro-concert #6, public engagement activities and creative workshops centred on the exhibitions. Filament will also return for a third edition, bringing together La Filature’s organizations and artists featured in the programs of DAÏMÔN, AXENÉO7, and Théâtre du Trillium.

This fall, AXENÉO7 is also extending its opening hours. Our exhibition spaces will now welcome you into the evening, Wednesday through Friday. An invitation to drop by after work, spend time with the art, and let the encounters shape what comes next.
