Autorésidences is a remote residency program created by the AXENÉO7 artist-run centre in the exceptional context of the COVID-19 pandemic to continue to support research and development of current art practices.
Part of the artist's project is broadcast on our Instagram platform as part of Partners in Art's TBD Takeover | Extended program.
In the context of the Autorésidence program at AXENEO7, the artist have undertaken the writing of a poems with the global superstar Celine Dion. Inspired by poet Diane di Prima’s Revolutionary Letters and artist Françoise Sullivan’s writings, the poetic project You’re the Voice aims to capture the political underpinning in Celine Dion’s performance of radical empathy.
Maryse Larivière is an artist, writer and scholar whose work crosses sculpture, performance, collage, text, and film. Larivière’s artworks and writings has been featured widely in Canada, most recently at Musée d’art contemporain de Montréal; MOMENTA Biennale, Montreal; OR Gallery, Vancouver; and Gallery 44, Toronto.
