M.A. Marleau (AXENÉO7), Emili Dufour and Mathilde Martel-Coutu (SAGAMIE) will discuss on the theme of books as spaces for artistic creation and dissemination with artists AM Dumouchel (Gatineau), Marie-Pierre Gagnon (Saguenay).
AM Dumouchel lives in Gatineau. She practices photography and sculpture while also teaching the arts on both sides of the Ottawa River. Her work explores the notion of metamorphosis—both the one we experience and the one we observe. By abandoning the traditional camera in favor of alternative photographic methods, such as expired Polaroids, digital manipulation, photocopying, cyanotype, image appropriation from the internet, and scanography, she aims to push the boundaries of photography by meticulously constructing each of her works as digital collages. The extraction of the manipulated digital image into a printed proof on paper—or another physical medium—is a recurring element in her practice.

Born in 1997 in Saguenay, Marie-Pierre Gagnon is an interdisciplinary artist who does not hesitate to use pop culture to deconstruct complex theories and make them more accessible through pictorial and installation-based works. A recipient of a Bachelor's degree in interdisciplinary arts from the Université du Québec à Chicoutimi in 2022, she won a creative residency at the contemporary art production center Touttout. Throughout her career, she has participated in several group exhibitions, notably at the artist-run center Le Lobe, Galerie L'Œuvre de L'Autre, and the Galerie du Collège d’Alma.
